How can you be a Muslim?

Once a person believes in the Message of Muhammad, he or she will declare - even if it is to him or herself, but better to be done in front of some Muslim witnesses - that : "There is no one worthy of worship but the One God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God". That's it, they are Muslim. It is that simple. If the person is sincere it will be accepted by God. If the person is, in fact, sincere, then he or she will begin by learning how to make the daily prayers. And, finally, if the person is truly sincere, God will light his or her way to peace - and all good things in this life and the Hereafter.

To become a Muslim a person only needs to be convinced that Muhammad is the Final Messenger of God. When a person has believed in his message, and makes an effort to follow Islam, then God considers him or her to actually BE a Muslim.

In order to make that person a member of the Muslim community, he or she will go before a number of Muslim witnesses - even in front of one Muslim, if that is all there is, and declare the testimony of faith: "I testify that there is no deity, none worthy of worship, except the One God (Allah), and I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of God". If the testimony is being done in front of witnesses in a proper mosque (Muslim place of congregational prayer) then the person administering the testimony of faith may say it in Arabic, as well. The person entering Islam would then repeat it, as best as they can. It is: "Ashadu An Laa Ilaaha Illa Allah, Wa Ashadu An-na Muhammadan Rasool Allah".

Once the person enters the true faith of all the Prophets, all his or her past sins are forgiven entirely, and they begin anew.

Muslim means believer. Any body who believes that 'there is only one God and Muhammad is his last messenger ' is muslim
