First of all, by deepening and strengthening your own love for the Most Holy Eucharist by receiving the sacraments often - going to confession every week, or every two weeks, and going to Mass as frequently as you can, and receiving the Eucharist whenever you are in a state of grace. Then by living this Eucharist love as you contact other people throughout the day.

Why is the sacrament important to us?

The Sacrament usually refers to the Blessed Eucharist (Holy Communion) which is the actual Body and Blood of Our Blessed Lord. Our Blessed Lord said that unless you eat My Body, and drink My Blood you have no life in you. It is important to give us life and help us live a holy life for God.

What is the instrument called that holds the Holy Communion on the altar?

Your question is strangely phrased, so I'm not sure what you mean by "instrument". A Monstrance or Ostensorium is used to hold the Blessed Eucharist for Adoration, it is placed on the altar. During Mass, a corporal must be placed under the Blessed Sacrament, the Precious Blood is held in the chalice and the Host is held in on a paten or in a ciborium.

What is the central sacrament in most forms of Christianity?

Roman Catholic AnswerThe central sacrament in Christianity is the most holy Eucharist, the "source and summit of the Christian life" (Vatican Council II). It is the sacrament to which all of the others tend and/or flow from. The Eucharist is the actual Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ.
