In order to believe in The Bible fully you need to know it's author, God. The bible was dictated to certain men by the Holy Spirit and they put the words down on paper, or what ever medium was used for writing on.
Once you know God, and His Son, Jesus Christ the bible will began to make sense to you and the Holy Spirit will guide you into belief.
If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, knowing the bible is a futile thing. We are told in I Corinthians 2:14, "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
A natural man is one who does not have the Spirit of God residing in him. So it is evident that an unsaved person cannot understand the bible and cannot believe it.
