first get a container or some sort like critter keepers are perfect it should be at least three times its length in width and four times its height, the bigger the better the cage is. you can have a substrate but you do not need one. put at least one stick in it the stick should go from the bottom corner to the top corner opposite of it you can add plants but is not needed.
