you can usually change the game controls in online games, by clicking a "tools" option, or something similar, like "game options".

Better graphics, online play, you can play at the same time, wireless controls, more modes, and in a opinion, there just better.

The PS3 does have parental controls and they can be set to allow restrictions on local content stored on the harddrive including games. The PlayStation internet browser and PlayStation Network can also have parental controls set. As far as I know, you can only change gender when you begin a new game. I am not so sure about PC games or online games though.
There is no way to restore the default controls other than to find a list of the default controls somewhere and change them manually.
There is no way to change the controls (I hate them too), what a major let down by EA Games and the NFS Franchisee. Why would they have a sudden notion to change the controls without giving options to customize... I wonder whose dumb notions was this in EA.
Your firewall protection is probably on too strictly, change your firewall so it is on moderate which will allow you to play online games.
