At the age of 13, I started breaking out really bad. I used a make up by cover girl called clean. You would think that "clean" would help your face and cover your blemishes up,but it made mine worse. I think it was an allergic reaction. I hated my face at that time. I even went to a dermatologists. And, at the time I was using a lot of cleansing products on my face. Which probably made it worse. The best thing to use to clean your face with is just regular bar soap. I use dove sensitive skin, and the dermatologists prescribed me epiduo. It has made my acne breakout smaller and soo much better. Good luck!!

∙ 12y agoFor a start, you can get some Neutrogena On the Spot Benzoyl Peroxide and start off veeery slowly with it. Just wear it for 15 minutes a day. Then double the wearing time every three days. Then, when you are up to wearing it for 3 hours for 3 days in a row, then start wearing it overnight. You need to wear Benzoyl everyday in order for it to work and not just "on the spot" but all over. It prevents the acne from forming in the first place. Then once your skin acclimates to this, then get a stronger Benzoyl Peroxide formulation - but make sure it doesn't have pore-clogging ingredients in it.
That will help your acne a lot, but it usually takes more than that to get clear. It usually takes a combination of a strong exfoliating serum and Benzoyl Peroxide to get clear. The other thing is to stay ahead of your skin's ability to adapt to products. If you use the same products in the same way your skin won't get clear either. You need to strengthen your homecare every couple of weeks - like using a stronger Benzoyl Peroxide or using the Benzoyl twice a day
