You can collect gas by following a small process. First you need a test tube, the chemicals, a one-hole cork(cork that fits in test tube with only one hole), glass tube(which fits in the hole of the cork, rubber tubingto be attched with glass tube and a syring(with no needle). So, you mix the chemicals in the test tube, then you fit the one-hole cork in(make sure no air can escape, except from hole). then push the glass tube in the hole and attach rubber tube with glass tube. Then attach rubber tube with tip of syringe. This is the things needed, but if you don't have all of these thing you can use somethings else i don't know, maybe a straw instead of glass tube(for eexample). Then, the closed syringe should get open by itself because air is filling it. You can stop here, and when the syringe doesn't open anymore remove the syringe and close it with something(for example tape). Or you can do an experiment. You can see how much volume of air is filled in for example a minute. Then after all the gas is releasedyou can make a graph- time and volume. To do this get a stopw watch and from the time the bubbles will come out until no air keeps coming out, just set the stopwatch, you know what to do. You can also try and see what the gas is. For example, you can do a lime water solution(calcium hydroxide with water) and put all the air in the limewater, if the limewater becomes milky, it means the air is carbon dioxide. You can also put a splint near the syringe and if the spolint pops it means you have hydrogen. Just do some research and you can make some fun experiments. Good Luck!
Hydrogen gas can be extracted from compounds contain hydrogen. One way is to pass electricity through water. The H2O in water separates into hydrogen and oxygen which are attracted to the opposing poles of the electrical contacts releasing hydrogen (and oxygen) gas.
An inverted beaker or test tube filled with water is the usual method for collecting hydrogen gas coming from a chemical reaction.
By electrolytic decomposition of water, we can collect hydrogen and oxygen separately . The amount of hydrogen gas collected is twice the amount of oxygen. :D
we extract it from fossil fuels
Hydrogen is obtained by the electrolysis of water.
A laboratory reaction is:
Zn + 2 HCl = ZnCl2 + H2
Fill a test tube with gas out of the gas dispenser in your labatory, you then light a match and put the match under the test tube. If it makes a pop sound it porves that there is hydrogen gas present. You do not need to make Hydrogen gas, as it comes out of the general gas dispenser, if you want to test this use the method described.
just use the hydrogen cylinder
Anhydrous calcium chloride
Because of diffence density so you can use separated tank.
Hydrogen gas (H2) is not very soluble in water, and so it will displace the water in the container, thus making the level rise.
To separate H2O(liquid) into H2(gas) and O2(gas), you would use a process called electrolysis. This involves passing an electric current through the water, and collecting hydrogen as it forms as bubbles at the cathode (negative terminal), as well as collecting oxygen as bubbles at the anode (positive terminal). You will get half as much oxygen as hydrogen. For a more detailed description, see the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolysis_of_water you get H and O2 from H2O by using a method called Electrolyzation in which you separate O2 and H and this method is used in advanced submarines to have O2 from water.

Hydrogen gas is very explosive so it is not safe to use in footballs!
The Scientific Method
Hydrogen Gas.
just use the hydrogen cylinder
No, fuel-cell automobiles do not use gas as a fuel. They use hydrogen gas as a fuel source, which is converted into electricity to power the vehicle.

Hydrogen gas
Hydrogen is the first element on the periodic table of elements. Hydrogen is also a gas.
It is recommended to use a hydrogen cyanide gas detector.
