To separate H2O(liquid) into H2(gas) and O2(gas), you would use a process called electrolysis. This involves passing an electric current through the water, and collecting hydrogen as it forms as bubbles at the cathode (negative terminal), as well as collecting oxygen as bubbles at the anode (positive terminal). You will get half as much oxygen as hydrogen.
For a more detailed description, see the Wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolysis_of_water you get H and O2 from H2O by using a method called Electrolyzation in which you separate O2 and H and this method is used in advanced submarines to have O2 from water.
Hydrogen and oxygen can be obtained from water by electrolysis, a kind of decomposition; this process is not synthesis.
Hydrogen and oxygen
Water, H2O, is a molecule of hydrogen and oxygen. It is considered a compound. That said, yes, oxygen and hydrogen combine to make a compound that is represented by the molecule H2O.
H2o is made up of hydrogen and oxygen
The O in H2O stands for oxygen. The H represents hydrogen, and the supbscripted 2 shows that there are 2 hydrogen atoms.
Hydrogen contains one valence electron (one electron in its outer orbit) and oxygen contains six valence electrons, to become stable a element wants to have 8 electrons in its outer orbit. Therefore when hydrogen and oxygen combine, it will take 2 parts hydrogen and one part oxygen H2O
Gases H2O is water.
H2o
The formula for H2O is two hydrogen molecules and one oxygen molecule.
H2O is 1 hydrogen 2 oxygen atoms
2 hydrogen, one oxygen oxygen and hydrogen (2) Henceforth, H2O.
ice is frozen water,2 molecules hydrogen and 1 oxygen, h2o
hydrogen and oxygen are the two elements which make up water
Two atoms of hydrogen combine with one atom of oxygen to form water. Both hydrogen and oxygen are gases at room temperature, and they need to be activated in order to form H2O when combined. The activation, through a spark or flame, produces the water when these atoms are combined.
Hydrogen plus oxygen= H2O
No, you would need energy to combine hydrogen and oxygen into H2O
Hydrogen and Oxygen are the gases present in water in the ratio of 2:1 respectively with a covalent bond. The molecular formula is H2OWhen hydrogen is burnt in presence of oxygen, water is formed that can be written as;(Heat) H2 + O2 -------) H2O
Any molecule that contains both hydrogen and oxygen can be split into its component parts. Simple H2O, water, is the simplest. H2O2, hydrogen peroxide, is another example.
