How can you compare Sweden then and now?

The technology back in the Renaissance time period, is so different from today's, that to be able to compare the two time periods together, you would need more then a century's worth of data, to be able to support the technology of today, with that of the past. In an easier way to understand what I've put up there, you would need to compare a much of time's worth of culture to be able to fully understand the history of Sweden in the Renaissance time period. but as of today, scientists are doing they're very bests, at trying to uncover the history that was lost from Sweden more than 4 century's ago!
