I have the same problem, not because it's violent but because my parents think I'm addicted. Tell them Zelda is not a violent game, but a game that you use your brain to think creatively. It also gets you some exercise, and makes you all sweaty. The game is rated 10 and up, so I don't think violence is a big issue, but if it is, take my word that Zelda is a fun game, that even my 4 year old brother enjoys.
Best of luck, doc360
probably not because that's pretty violent for parents to be teaching their children.
its not innaproperate at all its just violent
Guild Wars is a very violent, combat-focused game. There are many role-playing communities, and you can simply enjoy Tyria and travel around and take in the scenery, but you will be surrounded by enemies you will have to fight to clear your path, and so on. Most MMO's you will encounter are violent - from Guild Wars to World of Warcraft.
If your parents say no, it's best to let sleeping dogs lie. But if you can make a good argument and not say "But my friend's parents let him!" by presenting evidence that violent games don't automatically make kids into mindless killing machines then it may change their minds.
