A good wash with soap and water can help prevent any reaction, but it has to be done before the oils bond with the skin. Once they have, there is nothing that will stop the reaction from occuring. You can't cure them, you can only reduce the effects until the poison runs its course. Benadryl is a good anti-histamine to reduce the swelling/itching effects. Calamine lotion reduces the itch and can be applied topically.
