Take a step back. Breathe. Look back on the situation: is it really as bad as you think? Perhaps the facts of what happened aren't as bad as how you're thinking of them.
Either way, keep your distance for a while. Give him space, give yourself space, give yourself reasons to feel good and confident. If it is meant to work out, somehow it will. But he definitely will be freaked if you keep going back for more.
