A card or comic shop may be entered merely by talking to the Tournament Organizer. A fee may be applied, depending on the shop. Typically, a local tournament consists of 4 rounds of Swiss (non-elimination) play, followed by three rounds of single-elimination Finals play (top 8).
A Regional Qualifier may be entered by talking to the tournament organizer, who will issue you a COSSY ID number if you do not already have one. A registration fee of $20 is required. You will also be required to fill out a Deck List form (used by Judges to ensure deck legality). Depending on the number of registered players, these tournaments will consist of between 4 and 8 rounds of Swiss play, and then the Finals rounds at the end.
