Click on "Start" then click on "Control Panel". Click on "System". A window will open. A description of your system, including the amount of RAM will be found in the "General Tab". (these instructions are for a PC running Windows XP)
If using Windows, right-click My Computer, and choose Properties.
In order to find out how much RAM is installed in a computer system, you will need to right click the my computer icon, and then click properties. When the window pops up, it will have the information containing the amount of RAM in addition to the processor speed.
If I was to purchase a computer that is a average desktop computer how much RAM and Rom should I have?
A person can tell if a Ram is affected or not by running a virus scan on the computer.
Windows XP does not have the RAM, its the computer that has it. The amount of RAM can differ for each computer.

In windows, you can find out how much system RAM your computer has by right-clicking "my computer" and choosing properties in the drop-down menu. The first tab will list details such as CPU type, speed, and system RAM.
Do you mean RAM? Becouse if so, you can find it under start menu --> right click computer --> settings. That takes you to your system specs.
Most RAM have the specifications right on the RAM chips. If you have never opened your they are located in between the CPU and the CD/DVD usually. If you can't open your case for warranty reasons, you will have to contact the seller or manufacturer of the computer where you bought it.
Depends on the computer. I'd have to say that a standard pc has anywhere from 2-4 gigabytes of RAM.
Memory can refer to two possibilities, Hard drive space or RAM. to find Hard drive space (On windows) You can click Start>Computer Now this will open a window with at least one drive labeled Local Disk C. This is generally the master hard drive. You can hold your mouse over it and it will tell you how much space you have or you can find how much space you have by right clicking it and choosing Properties. If you are referring to RAM then you can find out how much you have by Right clicking My computer (On systems older than Vista) and clicking properties. On vista you can click start and right click Computer again choose properties. This will display much info about your computer including your RAM count under System>Memory(RAM) It will most likely be displayed in Gigabytes or GB. Most computers lately are be made with 2-4GB of RAM.
3-4Gb of RAM is about all you need. more RAM will just go unused unless you are doing a lot of 3D modeling (which im guessing your not). Less than 3Gb is not recommended as it may slow down your computer and RAM is cheap enough. If you are buying a computer with a Core i7 processor, then make sure the amount of RAm is a multiple of 3 (3 or 6Gb)
