Take it from one who's been there, an eating disorder is NOT something you want!! Eating disorders can cause damage to your heart, esophagus, stomach, intestines, teeth (they can make your teeth fall out), and many other body parts. They can be fatal. They make a person's appearance go downhill rapidly. To this day I have stomach and digestive problems because of an eating disorder. Once I ended up in the emergency room with an esophageal spasm, a spasm of the esophagus, because of purging. Please do not go down that path.

That sounds exactly like the eating disorder known as Anorexia Nervosa, or anorexia for short.
The eating disorder that is characterized by compulsive overeating and often leads to weight gain is known as Binge Eating Disorder (BED). Individuals with BED frequently consume large amounts of food in a short period and may feel a lack of control during these episodes. Unlike bulimia, those with BED do not regularly use purging behaviors to compensate for their eating. This disorder can have significant psychological and physical health consequences.
Why is what considered an eating disorder
Why is what considered an eating disorder
Eating disorders, such as binge eating disorder, have the potential to do harm to your body. If you feel your eating disorder is out of control, it is appropriate to see a doctor, specifically a psychiatrist who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. This is important because while binge eating disorder itself does not pose the risk of grievous harm to the body other than weight gain, it is often caused by the more serious problem of anxiety or depression. Also, binge eating disorder can quickly escalate to bulimia, which is very harmful to the body and can result in death. However, if you are not comfortable with seeing a medical professional for your binge eating disorder, there are some support groups both online and in community centers that can help you overcome your eating disorder. This is a viable option if you have strong motivation to end your eating disorder, if your eating disorder is not overly out of control, and you have the personal strength to better yourself.
in a round about way i guess from the pressure they can put on a person when they see a weight gain or anything like that!
Yes it can. If you start counting calories it's easy to get obsessed by it. In order to gain weight, or loose it, you don't need to do that.
An eating disorder with binge eating is bulimia nervosa.
