turn it off, take the GBA game out and make sure Pokemon platinum is in. Turn it on and select Pokemon platinum and - VOILA! it starts.

Well yes there is a way but I don't think your GBA supports Pokemon Platinum (or PP)

get an AR and plug it into ya computer, then save a file (from game faqs is best) onto the AR database, when you plug it in load the saved file on the AR and not on the game chip and vwalla!

On my visualboy advanced(on the PC) I press <Shift> then F1 to F10 to save. To load your game you then simply press the F you've saved on.( For example if you save yours with <shift> F5, simply press F5 and you will load your saved game. I hoped this helped!

You just turn off the game and turn it back on. You will automatically appear in front of your house in Pallet Town, as if your previous data was auto-saved.

either it is broken or you have to enter the numbers and letters beside the unknown game (it is also on the bottom right corner on the game)
You need to obtain an emulator ffor the Nintendo DS, and then find a ROM for the emulator (obviously that ROM being Pokemon Platinum in this case). The ROM is essentially the game cartridge, so you load it in the emulator. Do be wary that they are essentially illegal unless you actually own the game, blah, blah...
