It has to be a normal type dark chao or running type dark chao when it evolves make sure you never increase its stats except for in running or stamina.

You need to have a chao transformed into a devil chao in your garden it can't be transferred from another game if you do this you should unlock the garden if not then get another chao and transform it into a hero chao you should receive the hero garden then transform another chao to a devil chao and now for sure you should have the dark garden if this is still not so then your game is messed up. I know. I already have hero garden, and a couple of hero chaos, and this one is black with a blue curl thing on its head and tail, and a red slash on it's chest, but when i bring it to the doctor, it says that it hasn't transformed yet, and i still don't have dark garden.

Chaos Chao is available if you give your chao all the animals that you can get in stages whether there going to be a hero or dark chao if you do these they will change to a chaos chao which in this form can never die and it won't turn into a baby but the looks of your chao will not show any animals and it can't mate and if your chao has any expressions on its face smiley or anything else it will NOT show on your chao anymore but its worth getting. By the way to get the ultimate chao you have to do those steps in sonic dx.

I'm not sure what you mean by shadow chao. there are 3 types: 1) a dark chao 2) a dark running type chao 3) a shadow the hedgehog chao for 1, treat your chao nicely with bad guys until it is dark colored, then, let it evolve or 'chaovolve' as I call it. for 2) treat your chao nicely with bad guys until it is dark colored, then, let it evolve, then feed a strict diet of Green chaos drives. for 3) err... I heard you must use a cheat system. 0...7....MEEEEEEEOWTH! No no, its easy to get a shadow the hedgehog chao, all you have to do is make a dark running/running chao and by th second evolution it will look like shadow but it doesnt after the first one. It is also possible to get a Red Two-Tone (Breed a Red Mono-Tone Chao with a Normal Colored Chao) and evolve it into a Dark/Run.

Give it Green Chaos Drives, or animals that raise its Running like a bunny rabbit. Be sure to keep it Dark. Once it evolves, it should be a basic Shadow Chao (Neutral/Run). This would be its FIRST evolution. Now keep continuing to raise its Running. When it gets older, it will gradually change into a Shadow Chao (Neutral/Run/Run). Hope this helps! :]
