yes this will stop car from starting. a bad cam sensor will also stall engine at any speed.the sensor is easy to replace.
Hi, My daughter has just purchased a Fiat Punto 1.2 16v. We have had intermittent problems with the car, she will be driving along at any speed and the revs will drop and the engine will cut out. We took the car to a diagnostic centre, where they think it may be the Crankshaft Sensor, as this is the crankshaft position detector, which detects when the engine needs a spark and fuel!!
