Well, firstly, you have to make sure you have extra rooms (all non-superstar members should have 2), and an item you would like in that room. You basically just drag your item into the storage box (on the right side of the suite, unless you click the arrow next to it), and then click on the room you want to place that item in. Once you're in the room you have to open up the storage box you placed the item in, and drag the item to where you want it in the room. Make sure you press save, and that the room is open, if you want visitors to see it.

I think I can help. When on stardoll, go to your suite and pick the room you want to go into, then look in the bottom right hand corner of your suite, click on the black disk, then that'll be you in the room you like!
