Depends on the system with the PS3 you need to use the charging cable the first time to register the controller and then you just use the PS symbol to turn on the controller and it will make it the second if you already have one on. Getting it to work then depends on the game you are playing. That game must be at least a 2 player game and has to be set for at least a 2 player game
