You can sit down and talk to her, if she doesnt listen here's a trick that can be helpful for both of you (be careful when and where to use it or it might get you in trouble)keep a tape recorder or cellphone in your pocket so that whenever your mom yells and you can catch a quick few-seconds clip recorded.play it whenever you and your mom are not fighting and calmly discuss how you felt that you shouldn't fight that way or let her see that how her yelling with your yelling doesn't sound right. discuss is gracefully and pleasantly. be careful not push your parents over the edge though! [whether your yelling or not]

Recording someone without their knowledge is using ambush tactics and is guaranteed to get you in more trouble. Try doing what your mom says to do the very first time she says to do it. Look for things to help out around the house, carry that glass to the sink, even if it isn't yours... if you have jobs she always makes you do, do them before she asks. Help take the load off of her. If that doesn't help lighten the atmosphere, write her a note. Tell her how you feel, say that you have really been trying to help her out and you don't know what else to do.
Shockingly enough, most moms want to play and have fun but just don't have the time. It can be hard to break old habits, like yelling and being frantically busy, or being self-absorbed and not see situations the way others see it. Keep trying to help each other to work together instead of tearing each other apart. You both need to see things from each others perspective.
