The only good way is to power mine for mining, just keep mining coal or iron ore, and dropping them or keeping them you choice.

Not sure as for smithing, other than just make the bars closer to your level. If you're seriously rich and have 43 magic, you could just buy a ton of nature runes and mine coal and iron ores. Immediately after mining the ores enough to make a steel bar, just superheat the ores to make a steel bar. Bank the bars after getting full inventory. And you get Magic, Smithing and Mining exp. This might not be very useful, but it works :P .
