I had that very same problem. It has to do with the kind of straightener -- get the GHD. It indicates how hot it has to be on your hair so it doesnt damage it and i use moroccanoil, its $50 and you can get it at any hair salon. its a lot of money i know but everything good for your hair is not cheap.
