The oil spill could be solved by drilling relief wells to reduce the pressure on the original well.
Its kind of like making a hole in a water pipe. The water will keep spraying out, no matter what you do, because all the water is trying to escape at the same time. If one were to make several smaller holes, the pressure would drop, making it easier to plug all of the holes at once.
Once the relief wells are drilled, the so-called 'top hat" strategy can be implemented.
Yes. i think so
There trying to clean up the spill and trying to fix it at the same time and a way to stop it is to rec-cycle to help the government out.
People are actively working to solve the problem of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico by deploying oil containment booms to contain the spill, using skimmers and other equipment to remove oil from the water, and applying dispersants to break up the oil slick. Additionally, efforts are being made to cap the well and stop the flow of oil, and restoration projects are being implemented to mitigate the impact on the environment and wildlife.

The Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, which began on April 20, 2010, took several months to contain. The well was successfully capped on July 15, 2010, after various attempts to stop the flow of oil, including the use of a containment dome and a "top kill" procedure. Ultimately, it took approximately 87 days to fully stop the blowout and seal the well.

The worst oil spill ever happend in march 15, 1910 in Kern County, California when a man named Julius Fried bought a patch of land hoping to strike it rich with oil. Months passed and the drill hit 2,200 feet (670 meters) below the surface, and the well erupted and gushed uncontrollably for 18 months spewing 9 million barrels of oil. About 5 million barrels were captured and sold.
Puerto Vallarta is some 1,034 kilometers (642 miles) from the closest city in the Gulf of Mexico (Tampico). Driving time is around 12 hours over a non-stop drive.
It won't stop because it is under a great deal of pressure and the valve on the oil well was destroyed. They are digging two new well to intersect with the existing one to relieve the pressure. lets hope this works. BP is still trying to stop the oil spill ^. but we're trying to stop it with hair. hair easily soaks up oil so if you get ur hair cut, ask if you can donate it for the oil spill. or you can go to 'Matter of Trust' the website and find the oil spil section. hope this helps
They said it isn't supposed to stop it. It would make it to where they can load it on a tanker instead of free flow in the gulf.
