Microsoft included a "Program Compatibility Wizard" with Windows XP for this very purpose. It won't work for all of your games and programs, but it should help with some of them. Just right-click either the desktop icon or start menu shortcut for the particular program, and go to "Properties". As long as it's an executable or a shortcut to one, you should see a "Compatibility" tab. You can change the settings for the individual program there, or follow a link to the help file on how to use the wizard.
Program Compatibility Assistant - Runs automatically when it detects an older program having compatibility problems.Program Compatibility Wizard -A tool you can run manually on a program if you notice compatibility issues.Program Compatibility Tab - More advanced users can also change settings for an individual program manually by using that program's Compatibility tab. Not recommended for most people. Use the Wizard instead.
Make sure the hardware is compatible with XP. Put CD on first priority in boot priority in the bios. Enter the CD and follow the instructions.
By running the setup program.
Windows 95 cannot be installed from inside a newer version of Windows. You must boot from a disc to install it. Windows 95 isn't compatible with newer computers anyway, and virtually all software that will run on Windows 95 will run on XP, so its a wasted effort.
