The pressure sandblaster will be quicker, but I'm not sure if the siphon sandblaster will blast the rust off the metal as proficiently as the pressure blaster. It would likely not clean the metal as well.

It depends upon the subsance being burned. Normally, the substance would end being some sort of oxide (O2 molecule being attached to the base molecule of what is being burned).

You can clean metal by using some stuff to clear it off and away it goes.
One test is to push into the cake a long metal skewer, or clean metal knitting needle. If the skewer comes out clean, with no bits sticking to it, then the cake has finished being cooked.

I doubt it is the soup, it is probably your cutlery, or the cooking implements (like spoon or pan) that you use to make the soup.
