Reproductive parts, size, and wings are ways in which to know whether a leafbug is a female or male. For example, female leafbugs generally have larger forewings which mimic leaf color, forms, and veins. In contrast to the typically flightless female, males show functional hind wings and non-leaflike, see-through, smaller forewings.
