How can you make HTML links react differently if opened in a new window or tab by the user?
To answer my own question, simply said you can't capture the action of 'opening link in new tab'.
The only options are:
- You can capture a right-click and a middle click.
- You can avoid opening in a new tab by using a span and style it to look like a link, instead of using an 'a' element.
- On loading the linked page, you can check the referrer. This may let you trace if the page was opened in a new tab.
