how do you play a c on the recorder
It is because C and D are two half steps apart. Flats make a note one half step lower and sharps make a note one half step higher, so that C# and Db are the same. This is the same for every instrument.
Cover all of your fingers but not the last one
high d (d') is your middle finger on your left hand over the second hole (2) low d is all the holes but the very bottom hole (0123456)
the highest note you can play on a soprano recorder is high b. this is a freakishly high note so be careful not to blow into your recorder really hard while playing this note because you'll pop your Eardrums!
