I would recommend purchasing the small circles of thinly sliced rye bread that's appetizer size.

Hard boil your eggs and slice them.

Lightly rinse or blot your sardines and cut into 1/2 inch sections no wider than your rye circles and no more than 1/2 inch thick (for a consistent look).

Spread your rye circles with a light covering of softened cream cheese and chives. You can find it pre-mixed or chop and add your own chives.

Place an egg slice on the cream cheese mixture.
