I would recommend purchasing the small circles of thinly sliced rye bread that's appetizer size.
Hard boil your eggs and slice them.
Lightly rinse or blot your sardines and cut into 1/2 inch sections no wider than your rye circles and no more than 1/2 inch thick (for a consistent look).
Spread your rye circles with a light covering of softened cream cheese and chives. You can find it pre-mixed or chop and add your own chives.
Place an egg slice on the cream cheese mixture.
Add another dot of cream cheese on top of the egg slice to anchor your sardine.
Place your sardine piece on top of the egg.
Arrange canapes on a serving tray and sprinkle with finely chopped fresh parsley.

Try an apple with a hard boiled egg or sardines on wheat crackers.
