Well, people have different opinions about elves. If you were to read Harry Potter, you can see that elves are made as slaves and doesn't need to be caught, but many other Fantasy Books suggest that you have to put crackers and water in someplace where the elf would find it and then catch the elf.

Getting an elf is a little confusing. First, you have to lay out some crackers and water, maybe a note. Then, you wait a night and see if your elf is there. If he is not, do the same thing over the next night and the next, until you get and elf. I am trying this too. You also have to write a note to santa to tell him that you are ready for your elf to come!

∙ 12y agoYou have to write a note to Santa saying you want an elf. Then you leave out food for it. You will have to leave out food for it every night. If some of the food is gone and you see and hear weird noises , it's there. Sometimes the elf will wait for you until morning, but sometimes you have to find them. They usually move around and hide in different places. When you find your elf it will stay until Christmas Eave, and then leave with Santa. When it comes the next year, it will come on Thanksgiving, then leave on Christmas Eave again.
