You can prevent yourself fron diseases like Cholera and Typhoid by making sure any water you drink/use is definitely clean e.g filter your water. Another way to do this is to also make sure all sewage is disposed of properly and I reccoment that if you start having symptoms such as mild-to-moderate diarrhea, a sustained fever as 104 degrees, feel weak, or have gastro-enteritis, headache, diarrhea and loss of appetite you should see a doctor.

Excreta transmitted diseases are diseases in which the body excretes waste such as urine, sweat, and feces. Some of these diseases include cholera, polio, and typhoid.
This really depends upon the type of pollution. There are water borne diseases such as cholera, which can be present in polluted water and can infect people. There are toxic substances such as lead and mercury which can be present in polluted water and poison people. There are many other types of pollution as well.
Cholera & Typhoid fever would be two of the more common, but there are many more
Both are serious diseases. Both are transmitted by fecal oral route.
