At the moment there seems to be a glitch with profile pages that makes some HTML code appear. You can try removing it (which may work), but it seems to just come back. The techs have been notified.

You replace the < and > characters with "& lt ;" and "& gt ;", respectively. Remove quotes and all spaces - they were needed for WikiAnswers to *display* the code and not convert it.
Changes to the code of WikiAnswers by unauthorized persons will be deemed malicious and they will be permanently blocked from accessing the site.
Not sure what you are trying to do or what kind of ActiveX calls you have in your HTML code. However, the easiest way to remove anything from an HTML document is to highlight what you do not want and press the delete key.

Simply by copying the HTML code of the layout you want. Go, to your page and click "Modify". Go onto HTML. Then, paste your code in.
You need to use HTML mode - go to profile > modify > HTML mode > paste in the HTML code > click enter.

The "random letters" may be HTML Code that occurs as part of a glitch. The glitch should now be fixed, so if you edit your profile again, the code should disappear.
To add an image to your profile, just copy and paste the Direct Link onto it. The system will then change it into HTML code, for it to display properly. There is no need to use HTML or BBCode.
Go to html source and remove the code/script.
