You can easily reset the settings on your iPod by either going to the reset feature on the iPod itself. Alternatively, you can use the iTunes software to do a complete reset, including deleting music.
if it will succesfully come up in itunes you can restore it, you will just have to put everything back on again.

my creative zen is frozen and the reset doesn't work.
This is not a legit response but if your ipod is jail broken and its frozen and it will not unfreeze you can try resetting it a couple times. If that doesn't work I would recommend you calling the Apple company and see if they can help you.
You reset it. Hold down the home button and the power button at the same time for 10 seconds. Please note, this deletes EVERYTHING of your iPod so you will need to put everthing off iTunes back onto your iPod Hope this helps :D

In order to reset your ipod touch you need to plug upi your ipod touch to a computer with itunes. Once you go to itunes there will be a button you can press on the ipod touch info page called "REstore your ipod touch" Click it and then you're ipod touch will be reset to factory settings.
