You have to teach it the "Leave it" technique. I would know because I have 2 puppies myself.---
what do you mean "leave it" technique? He has plenty of toys and a forest like yard to play in with lots of palm tree branches which he loves to chew on and still goes for the wrong things like the creepy crawly pool cleaner tubes and electrical wires. We come home and say whats this and he goes to his kennel but he still does it.?
there is a special spray so the dog will stop chewing anything you spray the spray on..........you can get the spray at petsmart
Get one of those lampshade things
cut them off.
Give him enough food ofcorse
Get one of those bitter things that are safe for dogs as the dog will taste the bitter taste and not chew.
Keep your things in a place where the dog can not get them. This dog may need training.
barking licking scratching chewing things shedding
Get rid of the fleas. Flea allergies are the number one reason for visits to the vet!
You can try using bitter apple spray on the wee wee pad to deter the dog from chewing it. Provide plenty of appropriate chew toys to redirect the dog's chewing behavior. Supervise the dog closely and correct him with a firm "no" whenever he tries to chew the wee wee pad.
Make it unpleasant for the dog - either by spraying a foul-tasting gear over your stuff, or by squirting the dog with a water pistol when you see him starting to chew something. It he is a young dog, he is still developing his teeth and needs to chew, so buy him something he can chew on, like a chew-toy, and encourage him to use that instead of your household possessions. A short-term solution is to see a vet or pet-store and get a muzzle though in the long term it would be better to train your dog properly and put up with a few chewed-on items.
All dogs, not just female pitbulls, go through a chewing faze as puppies. Many dogs like the way a certain person smells and will only chew that person's things. To stop dogs from chewing the wrong things, you can buy green apple and/or vinegar spray to spray onto your shoes and furniture that the dog is chewing. Be stern with your, but not harsh!
