There are different ways that someone can suggest an item. Public libraries often have an online form that anyone can fill out (though they may require you to have a library card in order to do so), and they also typically accept suggestions in person at the library. Suggestions can usually be made by anyone, of any age. If you aren't certain as to how to suggest an item to your library, simply ask your local librarian - they will be able to show you how to do it.
Go to your local library and check out: 101 Ways To Bug Your Parents. Or do something they don't like. I suggest you don't :)

It might be best to go to a library and ask a librarian for guidance as to which are the best books (e.g. biographies of individual entrepreneurs) to read on the subject. If they don't have the books in your library, it can be checked out through interlibrary loan from a library that does have them.
I suggest something kid-oriented, like Orlando or Hershey, PA. Here is a more complete list of good ideas for family vacations: http://travelwithkids.about.com/od/topvacations/ss/Family-Vacation.htm
