When you are logged onto your account, you can not talk to another girl on It Girl. However, when you are not logged onto your account, your avatar will still be active, attending parties (this is how you get lots of people on your rivals list) and searching racks (this will not count towards your ribbon count). Your avatar will be conversing with other It Girls who are also not logged on.
