There is no sexual dimorphism in Oscars (Astronotus ocellatus) although some amateurs may claim different. (Comparing fins has been touted but that's like comparing hair length in humans) The only two ways to tell are by actually netting and upending the fish to examine its' sexual organs (job for an expert) or watch them spawning and check out the shape of their 'tubes'. The female has a wide tube and is the one that lays the eggs. The male follows after the female and has a pointed tube it does not lay eggs.
Some people 'claim' that they can be sexed by the differences in their fins and other supposed visible differences too. This does not work any better than sexing people by the length of their hair or the size of their feet. Oscars are one of the species of Cichlids that have been placed into the category of "having no sexual dimorphism". This means that unless they are actually breeding (spawning) and their organs are visible so that the differences can be seen, a physical examination of the sexual organs out of water is the only way to sex them.

i want to know how to tell a gender of a goldfish please tell me write back which goldfish is a male and which is a female?
If the fish is male it will be bright and colourful, if it is female it will be quite dull
No, both male and female goldfish's tails are the same length. The sex of a goldfish does not determine how long a goldfish's tail will be. Usually the parents and what type of variety of goldfish the fish is will.
There is very little sexual dimorphism between male and female goldfish. Male goldfish are generally more slender, because they lack ovaries. Female goldfish may have swollen abdomens. Unless you are a professional, it is not advised to breed goldfish at home, because they cannot lay their eggs due to selective breeding. The eggs must be squeezed out of the female, when they are ready.
