there are a couple ways
you can tell a female turtle from a male
1. Females are bigger than males
2. males tails are thicker (for the penis) and females tails are long and thin
3. and or red eared sliders the males front claws are longer than the females...this is for courting the females during mating season
If they are still babies its hard to tell but when the turle is about 10 years old you can see it from the tail. Boy turle haves a long tail and girls have a ver small tail.
I think you tell all types of turtles genders apart the same way.... boys tend to have longer nails and a longer tail, while female turtle's tails and nails are a little shorter.
uhmmm..... penises?
The way you can tell a difference between the male and the female is because the female has orange eyes and a yellow throat, but with a male Spotted Turtle it has brown eyes and a tanned throat
It is difficult, as all members of the Corvid group have little difference between the sexes, they appear identical.

what is the difference between a boy and a girl potato bug
The difference between a female snapping turtle and a male snapping turtle is the difference in their tales. Each snapping turtle has a small cirlce looking shape on theie tale. If it is a female snapping turtle, it's circle will be closer to the shell (or the butt) an if it is a male snapping turtle, the circle will not neccesarily be at the end of the tail, but it is certainly not near the shell (or butt). With most snapping turtles, it should be obvious, but with some, it is hard to tell, especially if their newborns (a week old or younger).
I have a turtle named Tuck and I can't find out if it's a girl or boy?
