Firstly, learn the concept of sealed bearings.

A sealed bearing is a variant of the standard deep groove ball bearing. The design of the raceway, cage, and ball assembly is the same; having said that, between the inner and outer rings are mechanised nonmetallic seals. Sealed bearings cannot be lubricated.

While Sealed bearings have rubbing seals that seal against recesses in the inner ring shoulder. This limits the speed to around 70% of the corresponding unsealed Sealed ball bearings. sealed roller bearing are lubricated for life and hence under extreme conditions life can be short. However they are becoming increasingly popular for ceramic sealed bearings operating under light loads and moderate speeds.

Advantages:

1. Accessibility of contamination is significantly restricted.

2. Zero regular re-lubrication is required.

Disadvantages:

1. The bearing lifetime is restricted by the sum of lubrication loaded in between the seals of the bearing and the lube life.

2. The functionality of using sealed bearings is limited due to the excessive heating on larger sizes.

3. Maintenance needs replacement of the bearing.
