"There are several ways to tell if a credit card number is a Visa card number or not. First, Visa numbers always start with the number 4. They are also usually 13 or 16 digits in length."
One can tell that a credit card is a VISA card if the first digit of the card number begins with a 4. There are, however, a few exceptions including the following: 4903 4905 4911 4936
The name is not encoded in the credit card number. You will have to ask the bank (they should not tell you!)
In order to know whether or not the credit card number is valid, one should check out from the bank of the credit card, or using the card at an ATM machine.
Most Visa cards start with the number '4' and Mastercards with the number '5'.
Credit scores are personal information. If you can tell me how your credit score is computed then I will tell you how my credit score is computed. Okay?
You can identify a credit card number if it is a VISA credit card number by looking at the first number which is number four and it has sixteen numbers.
You will be able to tell this by the card itself. Usually debit cards have shorter versions of number and have different card color. A credit card's number is usually embossed as compared to a printed number with the debit card.

Very good question. Simply call the phone number one of your credit cards and give them the credit card number of the other card you want to pay. For example, say you want to pay your SEARS card balance with your VISA credit card. Call VISA and tell them you want to make a transfer to your SEARS account. Provide VISA with the SEARS account numbers-They will do it for you. It doesn't take long. It can be done over the phone. Good luck!~
Typically a debit card linked to Visa or MasterCard has the word Debit printed above the logo. This designation indicates that the card can either be used as a debit card or processed as a credit card under that particular network.

It will say the words "Visa Debit Card" on the front of the card itself.
As far as the university is concerned, a Visa card is a Visa card. As long as there is money on it, they can get paid. Of course if you deplete the pre-paid amount on the card, the charge will be rejected just like it would if you used a canceled credit card or entered an invalid card number. If that happens, the university will probably just not process the application and not even bother to tell you, so after you submit it, make sure it also got processed.
