Most phones have the facility to create a 'delivery report' for text messages. Your phone will tell you it has sent the message anyway. If the person's phone is switched off, they'll get the message as soon as they switch it back on again - and the network will tell you it's been delivered. It won't, however, tell you if the person has actually opened the message !
It won't say u have a new text or just look at all the texts and if u see one you've never seen that means someone looked at it
You cannot tell if your e-mail has been viewed or read although Outlook users can request a read receipt.

no not really but i really want one
Either you ask them by phone or in person or they respond
Not unless you ask them. You can send email with "read receipts" that will let you know if it's been read, but the person can choose not to allow the read receipt to be sent. It wouldn't even get that far if they don't open your message
You can't tell if someone has read your text message. But there will be a little 'r' beside the check mark in BBM (Blackberry Messenger) and that will show that it's been read, but only with BBM, not text messages.
