First, go to the forum you posted on.
If the circle is red in the general forum thread you posted in (such as Just Chatting), then someone replied or created a new thread within that forum that you viewed (and also made a topic for).
Go to that subsection in the forum, and if the forum you created has a red circle (with a little red asterisk showing that you posted in it), then someone has replied to it.
