check if your battery is low than usual ..might be alternator problem
I have the same problem with my 2004 Sunfire. Leave the ignition on for 10 minutes. Just let it sit for 10 minutes. No shorter than that time. And Should start.
i have a 2001 pontiac sunfire antitheft problem will not start anttheft light flashs on dash i can turn motor over buy jump starter but will not start
The radio on your 2000 Sunfire is probably reading "loc". If this is the problem, you need to go to a Pontiac dealer and pay them to unlock the radio. This is an anti theft device to insure your radio can not function if it is removed. The cost is from 10 to 20$
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
A faulty ignition switch can certainly prevent an engine from starting. Before wasting any more money, take the vehicle to the dealer and see what they'll do about the switch.
I had a similar problem in a Pontiac Sunfire. The guy at the dealership said it's a common problem with the switches they use for fan control in Chevy/Pontiac vehicles. It's about a $10 part.
Your alternator is not working.
Could be. But it might be an alternator problem instead of a batery problem. You need a good alternator to keep the bttery recharged. I wouldn't run out and buy a battery without getting the alternator checked.
It is a common problem in most GM vehicles.
I had this problem on my disco 1. Turned out to be the alternator, which was replaced and the problem was fixed.
i had it looked at and they said it was the oxygen sensor could that be the problem if so how hard is it to change.
A bad PCV valve or a problem in the PCV system will cause this
When your headlights continue to go out you may have a problem with your alternator. You should have your alternator tested to make sure it is still functioning as it should.
Answer :Pontiac 2000 not startingdoes your engine try to turn over or just seem to be dead when you try to crank it?if it does nothing at all when you try to crank it, it could be an ignition switch problem, electrical problem, the battery could be going bad, alternator problem, bad starter,if no power at all replace battery or alternator. if you hear a "clicking"sound when you attempt to start the car check out the silinoid. My Pontiac ignition switch is completely gone, when mine would not crank or even try to turn over. Hope this info helps.Female in N.C. Before you go out and spend money on a new battery. Check this do you have headlights? Are they very dim? Do you hear a clicking sound when the key is turned? Get a boost from someone to see if it will start. If it does then. Put your battery on over night charge (trickle charge). If you find you are still having problems then look into buying a new battery (Most auto stores will load check ur battery for free) I just dumped my battery for just this problem and bot a Motormaster Eliminator (which according to ctc doesn't fit my carrier - its does just a little tighter fix)
In my 2004 Pontiac GTO, I had that problem. I took it to the dealer and they cleaned out the ignition with some lock cleaner that you can purchase at home depot and they also cleaned the key .
i have that problem to it has something to do with the gear shift censor
Trouble code P0113 means: Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Input
I had the same problem with 2 cavaliers of mine ( which are basically the same as a sunfire) and my suggestion is the head gasket is bad or u have a cracked head most likely in between the valves.
E23 Communication Error: There is a vehicle/radio communication problem or an inter radio communication problem, Correction: Disconnect battery voltage to the radio and then reconnect after a few minutes.
Could be the starter or ignition switch...does the car crank/turn over when you turn the key? If you just turn the key and it 'clicks' it might be the ignition switch. I've had this problem before, and it ended up being the alternator. HOpe this helps!
The Blower Motor Resistor Pack is defective. Replace it.
We need a bit more information about your problem. Does the fan work? Does the car take a long time to warm up? (possible thermostat problem) FriPilot
It can be very common but should still be checked out. Tell the mechanics to fix the repercuptic bolt in the inside of the wheel, as this is likely the problem.
