How can you tell if you are goth or emo?

"Emo" is short for "Emotional" or "Emotionally Disturbed" as some people would say. You know that you are Emo if you express yourself and your inner emotions or anger and saddness through wearing all the black, and unfortunately, a modern stereotype of Emo is self injury (please don't do that if you are trying to be Emo).


Gothic originated with religion, Christianity more specifically, however, evolved over time to become one who loves darkness and death. Not in a suicidal sense however, but in more of a death is God sense.


In short, Emo's are the way they are because of their emotions and wish to express that.


Goth just wear black to be part of that group or because they choose to be that way.
