The best optin is to take your dog to the vet and let the veterinarian examine the leg. A broken leg may need to be confirmed by a radiograph (also called an x-ray).
However, several noticeable signs you may see that can indicate a broken leg are:
- Sudden profound lameness - the dog won't put any weight on the leg and may even hold the toes off the ground while standing and walking
- A swelling of the leg around the break, caused by a large blood clot and inflammatory cells flooding into the area around the break
- Signs of pain, including whimpering, hiding or seeking shelter, howling or baying and aggression towards anyone trying to examine the injured area
u can tell if it does not walk on it
Take dog to veterinarian.
They walk funny or their leg is spread out.
The dog has a chance of surviving. but you should take it to the vet so that the vet can put something in his leg so that it can heal better.
