Well if you think she might have broken it I'd take her to the vet right away. But if you're /really/ not sure then look at her. Can she walk and more importantly run? -GuineaBoo best way to see if its broken is too put her on some conrete then put a blanket down with some cucumber on it then if she rus for it check for any limping and if she stays still tempt her to run with he cucumber and if she still refuses to run she must be in pain... vet vet vet
There is no way to tell without medical attention. It could be a number of things.
1. You could be using the wrong "bedding" in its cage- which could of led to chapped skin or Arthritis.
2. He could have sprained it.
3. He could have a splinter from incorrect bedding (IE; Wood-chips)
Take your pet to the Vet ASAP- It may seem like a dumb thing to do since it is not a "regular" type of pet like a dog or cat- but all housed animals need medical attention eventually even if its just a check-up including Guinea Pigs- even hamsters! I am a Vet Tech and I have even worked with exotic animals like frogs so please take your pet into the vet to see whats going on with your furbaby. Someone would love to look at her/him. Failure to do so could evolve into infections in the bone marrow (if it is a broken leg) and future problems. Please get your animal checked up- and while your there you might wanna get his/her teeth looked at quickly just to make sure everything is OK with that since there very susceptible to teeth problems. If you have money issues don't worry. Ask for a payment plan or anything you might be able to work out with the vet- almost all vets can work something out with there clients. At most that is gonna happen is a X-Ray which can be done by a vet tech and would cost around 90$ or less- or they might just do a physical which will only cost 40$ or less. Good Luck!!
I brought my guniea pig to a highly recommended vet, he spent 4 minutes checking him causing him a lot of pain in the process to be told there was nothing he could do for him, that the break was too high in the leg to put a splinter on, he never offered pain killers and charged me €39.50 for the 4 mins. I was more annoyed at the pain he put the poor fella through and wished I had'nt brought him in at all. Thankfully I ignored the vet who suggested we should put him down, and four days later, he's eating, drinking, and moving of his own accord, and seems to be happy!
My guinea pig broke her leg. She (at first) just felt a bit jumpy but then it was very noticeable that she was limping extremely badly. We took her to the vet and they bandaged it up. In case our other guinea pig stood or bit her leg we had to unfortunately separate them for a few weeks, they were chuffed to bits when they were put back together though. Hope this helps.
If a human has a broken back will that heal? It is possible but very unlikely.
it won`t be able to walk or if it can, it will be in extreme pain
No.....your guinea pig's broken arm will not kill him. I am the owner of 2 guinea pigs and My guinea pig broke his arm just recently actually. He is not showing any sign of death or anything of that sort. For example: If a boy breaks his arm.....will he die...no....so its the same with guinea pigs. Just let your guinea pig be for a few days and then maybe take hime to a good vet who can cure the problem and within days your guinea pigs will slowly heal.
It is spelled "guinea pig". You got it right! :)
It should but it will heal faster with one.
Well, first of all, guana is the abbreviation of Guiana Island. Now you know what guana means. Second, a pig is a young swine that is not mature for it's age. So a guana pig is a pig that is from Guiana Island. Unless you mean guinea pig. A guinea pig means a small stout-bodied short-eared tailless domesticated rodent often kept as a pet.
The phenotype of the black guinea pig is black, and the pheno type of the white guinea pig is white.
Yes. Guinea pigs are mammals and therefore vertebrates.
Although Guinea Pigs are very resilient, your pet could have a broken bone so please take it into the vets immediately!
they sqeak and the other usually sqeaks back
It won't have thrown up - Guinea pig's physically cannot be sick.
Guinea pigs are VERY easily injured. They could break a bone from falling off your bed, being dropped from any height, etc. Make sure you hold onto a guinea pig firmly but gently and nicely.
Take you guinea-pig to the vet - if they are experienced they should be able to tell if your guinea-pig is preggers or not.
