A good confirmatory test for fat is Sudan III test. Take a test sample and add a few drops of Sudan III. A red stain shows that fat is present. Paper test is another test for fat. Melt the fat and drop it on a piece of paper. If it forms a translucent grease spot, fat is present.

The babcock test is a test used to determine the fat content of milk. It involves combining equal quantities of milk and sulphuric acid. All the components of the milk apart from the fat dissolve in the acid, leaving an aqueous layer (acid and all componets apart from fat) and a layer of fat on top. From this, the percentage of fat can be calculated.
There is an online body fat test available at http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html. Although this is not as accurate as a body fat analyzer, it should give you a sense of where you are at body fat percentage wise.

BF = Body Fat The water displacement test is the best and most difficult way to determine body fat. The skin pinch test is good but it requires and experienced professional. Many scales include an electro-resistivity test which when combined with information about your height will calculate your body fat. People of more lanky builds tend to read extra low body fat on this test though.
You can extract fat with chloroform and weigh the fat after you evaporate the chloroform.
