Pedigree papers contain genealogical information such as the Sire & Dam of the puppy (and at least three previous generations). They also list the registered owner(s) of the parent dogs. Without the pedigree papers - there is no way of tracing the dog's bloodline, and if you were to breed your dog, you would not be able to legally sell any puppies as pedigrees. Basically, unless you can get the certification from the breeder - your dog is 'just another dog' !
