Bettas are a labyrinth fish so they can survive oxygen depleted waters for short periods. A large cup filled 1/2 to 3/4 full of the betta's water should suffice if temperature is kept at stable amount. Bettas will jump so careful, however a large surface area is best for oxygenation.
